Qualifications : BA, LLB (Hons), University of Otago.
Gina is a Senior Commercial Lawyer, specialising in commercial contracts, and with a specific interest in education law.
Gina has extensive experience in legal and commercial roles with large corporate law firms in Auckland as well as one year with a small law firm in Whakatane and working in-house with a large electricity company. Gina also has experience working in the not for profit sector, and in politics at a national level. She joined Tompkins Wake as a Senior Associate in 2016, returning to legal work after a period of time at home raising children.
Currently Gina provides advice to commercial clients on a range of matters including governance, joint ventures and shareholders agreements, trade practices and consumer law, and commercial contracts. She also provides legal and regulatory advice to clients in the not for profit and charitable sector.
As well, Gina has a special interest in Education Law and legal and governance issues in schools. She has spoken at conferences to school leaders on aspects of the Education Act and provides advice on a range of issues to school Boards of Trustees and other organisations in the education sector.
