Tompkins Wake has been accepted for membership of the elite global law network First Law International.

Entry to the 75-country network of more than 8000 lawyers means Tompkins Wake can now tap into a rich pool of knowledge, intellectual muscle and expertise for Kiwi companies operating globally or considering international expansion, says Tompkins Wake chief executive Jon Calder.

“As an export-led nation, New Zealand’s success overseas has been built on relationships and connections. Our exclusive membership of FLI means we can connect with partner law firms around the world with proven expertise and jurisdictional knowledge to help our clients,” he says.

Europe-based independent law firm ranker Chambers Global, which annually rates the quality and strengths of the world’s business law firms, lists FLI as an elite legal network.

The new affiliation with FLI comes as Tompkins Wake, a full-service New Zealand law firm with offices in Hamilton, Auckland and Rotorua, continues a drive to grow and lift the quality, depth and breadth of its legal expertise.

Tompkins Wake has more than 100 staff and clients in Australia, Europe, Ireland and North America. Through its membership of FLI it can further extend its reach assisting and managing cross-border transactions and advice for its clients.

FLI is the only EU-based elite global network, as ranked by Chambers Global for three years running, of more than 75 independent, full-service, high quality law firms.  FLI is based in Brussels and it has a regional office in Houston, Texas.

Like Tompkins Wake, all FLI member firms  offer a full-service menu of legal services in their respective jurisdiction including:
